Your first 30 minutes — codes, controls, first fight

Before You Start

  1. 1.Join the Gakuran Roblox group. The game won't let you in without group membership.
  2. 2.Make sure you have at least 5 friends on Roblox. This is a hard requirement.
  3. 3.Redeem all active codes before playing. Free rerolls are valuable — use them on height first, since that's the only stat affecting combat.

First Session Route (20–30 min)

Check menus (0–5 min)

Open every menu: phone, settings, style, cosmetic, social. Know where everything is before a fight catches you off guard.

Walk the campus (5–15 min)

Find gathering points, fight-heavy areas (basketball court, open town), and safe zones (classrooms, music room). Green zones block combat.

Take one honest fight (15–25 min)

Block intentionally. Try to weave. See what happens. The goal isn’t winning — it’s learning how the combat feels.

Pick a focus (25–30 min)

Decide what to improve next. Camera control? Block timing? Style choice? One focus beats trying to fix everything at once.

Choose Your Fighting Style

Gakuran has 8 fighting styles, each with unique passive bonuses and height preferences. You roll styles in the Stats menu — Basic (40%) and Muay Thai (30%) are the most common, while Wrestling and Capoeira are rare Legendary rolls (5% each).

For your first session, stick with whatever you roll. Basic is surprisingly competitive — it rewards blocking with bonus damage and costs nothing to use. Once you understand the combat, check our fighting style database and build optimizer to plan your rerolls.

Combat Fundamentals

Block (F)

Tap F to block. Block drains your posture bar — if it empties, you get guard-broken and stunned for 2 seconds. Block in short taps, not long holds.

Parry (F on timing)

Tap F right as a hit lands. You take zero damage, lose no posture, and the attacker gets stunned. This is the single most important skill in Gakuran PvP.

Dodge (Q)

Quick dash with invincibility frames. Costs no stamina. Use it to slip heavy attacks (M2) that can't be blocked.

Universal Combo

Punch → Punch → Slam → Stomp. Works on every style. Never skip the stomp — it's free grounded damage after a knockdown.

Height Matters

Height is the only character stat that changes how you fight. Taller characters hit harder and have more HP, but move and attack slower. Shorter characters are faster with smaller hitboxes. Your style choice should match your height — Boxing works best on short builds, Wrestling on tall ones.

FAQ

Is Gakuran free to play?

Yes. Gakuran is free on Roblox. You need to join the community group and have 5 friends, but there is no entry fee. Rerolls cost 5 Robux each unless you use free codes.

What is the best fighting style for beginners?

Basic. It is the most common roll (40% chance), works at any height, and rewards good blocking with bonus damage. Stick with Basic until you understand the combat system, then reroll for Boxing or Wrestling.

Can I change my fighting style later?

Yes. Go to the Stats menu (left side → arrow → Stats → next page) and click the roll icon next to Fight Style. Each reroll costs 5 Robux. Use free codes to get rerolls without spending Robux.

Why do I keep losing fights?

Most early losses come from poor camera control and panic-holding block, not from having a bad style. Practice blocking in short taps, weaving to reset your angle, and landing the universal combo (punch → punch → slam → stomp).
